Road Trip Stickers Pack — A Free Printable for Mindful Travel Journaling

Printable road trip sticker pack spread on a table

I used to think a good road trip needed a playlist, a snack stash, and zero detours. Then I started keeping a journal — not the polished kind with calligraphy headers, just honest scribbles in the margin of whatever notebook was in my bag — and something shifted. The detours became the best part.

That’s why I put together this printable road trip stickers pack. It’s a small thing, really. But sometimes small things are exactly what we need to slow down enough to notice where we’re going.

What you’ll find in this sticker pack

This is part of my World Sticker Pack series — printable travel-themed stickers designed to help you document the sensory details and surprises that make trips worth remembering. Inside, you’ll find icons, doodles, and gentle prompts.

There are little suns and mountains. Cameras and music notes. Labels for ‘unexpected detour’ and ‘roadside surprises.’ Each one is a tiny invitation to pay attention instead of just driving past it.

How I use these stickers

I’ll share a few ways they’ve found their way into my routine:

Travel journals and scrapbooks

  • Mark moments with prompts like ‘Today’s Soundtrack,’ ‘Snack of the Day,’ or ‘Funny Story.’ I don’t always fill them in that day — sometimes it takes a quiet evening at the hotel. That’s fine.
  • Use the icons — camera, compass, clouds, trees — to decorate pages and highlight memories without writing a whole paragraph about them.
  • Map out your route with the location pin sticker. I find drawing the route by hand makes me actually look at the map instead of staring at GPS.

Trip planning

  • ‘Pick-Up Day’ and ‘Drop-Off Day’ labels for rental car details. Keeps things from slipping through the cracks.
  • Place ‘Next Stop’ on itinerary spreads to plan routes, accommodation, and sights ahead of time — or just leave it blank and see where you end up.
  • The ‘Road Trip Fuel’ label reminds me to plan for gas stops, coffee breaks, and those snacks that genuinely taste better in the car. I still don’t know why that’s true.

Creative projects on quiet days

  • Print them on sticker paper to decorate postcards or keep kids occupied during long drives.
  • Add a few to your vision board if you’re dreaming up future road trips. There’s something about sticking a little car icon next to ‘Pacific Coast Highway’ that makes it feel real.

This resource is for personal and educational use — enjoy it at home or in the classroom. It isn’t designed for commercial purposes. If you share it with someone, I’d appreciate a credit back to this page so others can find it too.

What you’ll need

You don’t need much. Just:

  • A printer — any home printer works for general printing, or a dedicated sticker printer if that’s your thing.
  • If you’d like to colour the stickers first: coloured pencils (Stabilo Twistable or Crayola are good starting points) and maybe some fineliners.
  • Sharpie markers if you prefer bold colours.
  • A pair of scissors for cutting them out. Precision ones help, but honest-to-goodness any scissors will do.

Download the PDF from my free library: {{link:https://thetraveltester.com/road-trip-stickers-pack/|Get your Road Trip Sticker Pack here}}. The file lives in the VIP Library — you’ll need a free account to access it, which takes about a minute to set up.

The Morning Reset

Five minutes. That’s all this ritual takes: print one sheet of stickers, sit with a cup of tea, and trace the edges before cutting. It sounds almost too simple to call a reset — but there’s something grounding about holding scissors in your hands and deciding which little mountain goes where.

Frequently asked questions

Is this sticker pack really free?

Yes. You’ll need a free account to access the VIP Library where the PDF lives, but there’s no cost involved.

Can I use these stickers for commercial projects?

No — this printable is designed for personal and educational use only. If you run a business or create products for sale, it isn’t meant for that purpose.

What paper should I print on?

Regular printer paper works fine if you’re cutting them out by hand. For actual sticker backing, any adhesive label paper or sticker paper from a craft store will do.

A note from Hazel

I keep telling myself that journaling doesn’t need to be elaborate to matter. A sticker on a page saying ‘snack of the day: gas station pretzels’ is just as valid as any painted watercolour landscape. Eighty-twenty is enough.
